Tattooing has been around for thousands of years with traditions of adornment, achievements, and status. Through circus sideshow acts, musicians, and outlaws, tattoos have become an icon of the alternative lifestyle in American history. Tattooing is about collecting and sharing stories, experiences, and art; living outside societal conventions and having freedom through the craft.

The Calling Bell was formed in 2023 by Brittany Lynn as a means for like-minded individuals to find creative community through art and music. Tattooing seemed like the perfect platform to create a space for subcultures to come together outside of formal institutions, separate from corporations and governments. Here at The Calling Bell, we host a variety of workshops, art exhibits, music shows, and events.

Our goal is to carry on the traditional values of tattooing and ethos of DIY culture, in a space that offers accessibility to art, music, and creative community.
