Drawing Quest is a workshop/game developed as a part of a long-time collaboration with Sean Suchara and Korea-based Illustrator Kelly Belter. Participants will enjoy a creative adventure using elements of roleplaying games to create a work of art throughout the workshop. With a selection of artist tools and dice in hand, players will roll to determine the course of their Drawing Quest, but not all is as it seems.
Throughout the workshop they will have to face Encounters in the form of a new rule they must apply to their piece, as determined by a random dice roll. This new rule could range from changing what you draw with, to ripping your piece up and taping it back together. In the end the outcome will be a representation of the journey they ventured on, and we’ll close out with a roundtable discussion of where everyone will share their journey. This workshop encourages a mixture of storytelling and randomness in the creative process by pushing participants to break from stricter rules that may stop them from trying new unexpected things.
This workshop is great for people of all ages and connects with an audience of both artists and fans of roleplaying games.
