‘Boundless’

On Display From April 7th 2024 - June 2nd 2024

Every so often things seem to gel if even for a moment. This exhibit, ‘Boundless’, seems like one of those times.

“The class these past few years has evolved into a very cohesive group. There is a real creative energy that just builds upon itself during our few short hours together each week.

It feels like a place where a common purpose lives- the creative endeavor; the trying to make the painting seem to just flow out of us yet adhere to some kind of process. The trying to keep “loose” so that authentic lines, marks, blobs and splashes can make their way onto the canvas, board, paper, etc. The intention behind each work- whether to have no intention at all; to create a certain feeling or a certain visual statement.

These artists are all intent on growing in their art-making and I admire them for it. They learn to take artistic risks; they celebrate on another when a process results in unimagined beauty; they support one another when things inevitably become “stuck” or “overdone” or run amok.

I am so very lucky to be working with each of them and everyone together. It continues to be an enriching, surprising and delightful experience each week. And each week I completely look forward to it.”
